QR codes and short links with AI

A QR image is only the start of a campaign. You also need to know where it points, find it again, download it for print and change the destination when your offer changes.

Yes, through a custom GhostQR connection in ChatGPT Developer mode on the web, where your plan and workspace allow it. Connect the service before asking ChatGPT to create or edit codes in your account.

1. In ChatGPT, open Settings → Security and login and enable Developer mode.
2. Open Plugins and use the plus button to create a developer-mode app named GhostQR.
3. Enter https://ghqr.au/api/mcp. Select OAuth and dynamic client registration (DCR), if prompted. Leave optional client ID and secret fields blank.
4. Sign in to GhostQR and approve the permissions you need. Select GhostQR from Developer mode in your conversation.

Yes. Connect Claude to GhostQR using a custom remote connector on a supported Claude plan, then ask it to create codes or update existing dynamic destinations.

1. Open Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector in Claude.
2. Add https://ghqr.au/api/mcp as the server URL. Leave optional OAuth client credentials blank.
3. Connect, sign in to GhostQR and approve access. Enable GhostQR for the conversation.

Claude Team and Enterprise owners may need to add the connector for their organisation first. Follow Claude's custom connector instructions for current availability and controls.

Yes, using Gemini CLI with GhostQR's MCP connector. These instructions apply to Google's command-line assistant. They do not establish a GhostQR connection in the consumer Gemini chat website or mobile app.

1. Install and sign in to Gemini CLI using its official setup instructions.
2. In GhostQR Account → Connect to AI, create a personal access token with read and write permissions.
3. Copy the Gemini CLI command supplied by GhostQR and run it in your terminal. It configures the HTTP connection and authentication header.
4. Ask Gemini CLI to list your GhostQR codes to check the connection.

If your preferred chat app cannot connect, you can still use it to plan campaign names and destination URLs, then create the code in the GhostQR generator.

Choose a dynamic code when you want an editable destination and activity tracking. Once connected, try this example, replacing the example.com URL with your own:

Check the tool result for the saved code and destination. Find that code in your GhostQR dashboard, review the design and download the QR code as PNG or SVG. Scan the exported code with your phone and check the destination before printing a batch.

The connector creates the saved record and returns details. Image export and logo upload happen in the GhostQR dashboard. Treat an AI-generated illustration of a QR pattern as artwork until you have verified that it actually encodes and opens the intended URL.

Yes. Every GhostQR dynamic code has a ghqr.au short URL. You can share that URL in an email, message or social post without using the QR image. The QR code and the shortened link lead through the same redirect.

Use GhostQR to create a dynamic code called “Spring email” for https://example.com/bookings?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=spring. Return the short URL so I can paste it into an email.

Creating the dynamic code also creates the short link and uses one place in your plan's dynamic-code allowance. Use the URL GhostQR returns. An address suggested in a chat has not been reserved unless creation succeeds.

For separate print and email reporting, create a different dynamic code for each placement. Reusing one short link combines their activity.

Your flyer is printed, but the booking page has moved. Ask your assistant to find the existing code and change its destination:

Find my GhostQR code called “Spring booking flyer”. Show its key, short link and current destination. Ask me to confirm before changing its destination to https://example.com/summer-bookings. Keep the existing code.

Confirm the correct code if names overlap. After the update, scan the original print and open the existing short link. Allow about 30 seconds for a cached destination to update.

A static QR code embeds its payload directly and cannot be repointed. Restyling a saved code also cannot change a copy already printed. Keep dynamic codes live and within your plan allowance; paused or deleted codes stop redirecting to the saved destination.

Give your assistant a specific review task whenever you launch or update a campaign:

List my GhostQR dynamic codes, including all pages of results. Show each code's name, key, destination and status. Flag names or destinations that may need my review, and do not change anything.

GhostQR's connector exposes lifetime, today and last-30-days totals, approximate unique scanners, devices and top countries. These reviews run when requested. Connecting an assistant does not automatically schedule monitoring or future destination changes. Any recurring workflow needs to be configured separately in a client that supports it.

Is AI QR code generation free?

GhostQR's static QR code generator is free. AI connector access requires an active paid GhostQR plan, even when creating static codes through it. Your AI provider may have separate plan requirements. See current GhostQR plans.

Can I manage a QR code made by another provider?

GhostQR cannot take control of another provider's redirect or change a static QR pattern. Create a new GhostQR dynamic code for future campaigns if you want to manage its destination here.

Can I control what my assistant can change?

Yes. Read permission allows listing and analytics; write permission allows creation and edits. Permanent deletion has a separate permission. You can revoke tokens and OAuth connections in GhostQR's account settings.

What if the assistant says it cannot find my codes?

Check that GhostQR is enabled in the conversation, you connected the intended account, your paid plan is active and the connection has read permission. Team workspace codes are outside the current connector's personal-account scope.

Start with one destination and one useful request. Create the code with your assistant, download it from GhostQR, and keep the same printed code and short link when your campaign evolves.
